Our district and city have seen the strongest development of civic organizations, non-profit service providers, leadership within the business community and cross sector coalition building in New Orleans history. Kristin has been a leader in bringing business and community leaders, citizens and coalitions together to form high capacity partnerships with expert knowledge and local experience.
Our citizens have created structures to combat the fragmentation often witnessed in pre-Katrina development work. Never before has New Orleans been better positioned to implement common sense reform and improve government response to the needs and expertise of our citizens.

My approach to addressing the issues most impacting District C and our city will be based in the following strategies.
- Best Practice Principles including clear measurable objectives
- Implementing “Common Sense” Reforms to maximize recovery opportunities’
- Improved project tracking and public communication
- Transparent fiscal accountability to ensure recovery dollars are spent wisely
- Increased neighborhood participation and inclusion in policy development
- Revamped and improved constituency services
I will implement the strategies above by building on our strengths and investing in our neighborhoods as well as by bringing together business, government, nonprofit and community leaders to build bridges and cross boundaries to make a better New Orleans.
